FEMALE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Shantelle Herring - Basketball
As a true freshman Herring started 27 games in her rookie campaign. She finished the season third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.7 points per game and led the team in conference games with a 10.9 point per game average. Herring averaged 3.9 rebounds per game and was second on the team with 60 assists for the year while being named to the WHAC's All-Newcomer Team.
Erica Landess - Softball
Landess started all 55 games as a true freshman and was second on team in batting average (.352), runs scored (40) and on base percentage (.429). Landess led the team with 90 assists from her third base position and was named All-WHAC honorable mention.
Lauryn Dostillio - Soccer
Stepped into a key starting role in the Crusader back line as a true freshman and started all 19 matches in her rookie season. She was part of a defense that posted four shutouts and allowed less than a goal per game in league play.
Michelle Hall - Golf
Hall led the Crusaders with an 86.4 stroke per round average over the course of the nine event regular season. Hall ranked in the top 20 overall in each of the nine events, including six top 10 finishes and two top five finishes. Hall took the top spot at the opening WHAC Jamboree, shooting an 83 to pace the field. She was named to the All-WHAC first team in her freshman year.
MALE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Jimmy Uelmen - Golf
Uelmen ranked second on the team with a stroke per round average of 75.4. He was the individual medalist at the Lou Collins Memorial and tied for first at the second WHAC Jamboree where he shot a two-under par 69 for the round. Uelmen tallied six top three finishes for the season and was named All-WHAC first team in his first season with the Crusaders.
Kevin Henry - Basketball
As a red-shirt freshman, Henry led the Crusaders in total points (381), points per game (13.1), assists (96) and assists per game (3.55). Henry also averaged four rebounds per game from a guard position. Henry was named to the All-WHAC third team as well as the WHAC's All- Newcomer Team.
Jeremy Gooding - Baseball
Gooding led the team in wins (10) - tied for first in MU single season history and tied for 22ndnationally - as a red-shirt freshman. Gooding threw a team high 71.2 innings while striking out 63 batters - ranking ninth in MU single season history - with a team low .216 opponent batting average - tied for fifth in MU single season history and ranked 21stnationally - Gooding finished second on the team with a 2.39 ERA - tied for 16thnationally - while being named All-WHAC first team.
Jeff Bultinck - Baseball
Bultinck led the team in at bats (204) - tied for sixth in MU single season history - hits (75) - tied fifth MU single season history- triples (5) - tied third in MU single season history - assists (137) - tied sixth in MU single season history - Bultinck tied for first on the squad in doubles (12) while finishing second on the team in batting average (.368). He was named to the All-WHAC honorable mention team.

Steve Mato - Men's Golf
Coach Mato led the golf team to the program's first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Title and National Championships appearance. The Crusaders finished first in three events and second in seven others during their record setting year. Mato became the first Madonna men's golf coach to be named WHAC Coach of the Year.
Scott Marzolino - Women's Golf
Coach Marzolino and the women's golf team captured the first WHAC Championship and advanced to the first NAIA National Championships in program history. The Crusaders took the top spot in the first three WHAC Jamborees en-route to their conference crown. Madonna posted eight top-five finishes for the season. Marzolino was named WHAC Coach of the Year becoming the first Madonna women's golf coach to earn the honor.
Greg Haeger - Baseball
Haeger and the Crusaders set a program record with 48 wins to just 11 losses during the 2010 season. The Crusaders made their second consecutive trip to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round and were just two wins shy of making the NAIA World Series in
Al White - Softball
White and the Crusaders swept the WHAC winning both the regular season title and the Conference Tournament for the second consecutive year. Softball returned to

Bret Quitiquit - Golf
Quitiquit led the team in stroke average and was crowned the WHAC Individual Medalist for the low stroke total in conference play. Quitiquit placed second in the field of more than 150 golfers at the NAIA National Championships, the highest individual finish at a NAIA National Championship in Madonna history. Quitiquit placed top 20 in 13 of his 14 tournament appearances, with seven of those falling in the top five. Quitiquit was named All-WHAC first team for his efforts.

Ted Toune - Baseball
Toune led the Crusaders in batting average (.372), runs scored (63) -ties him third in MU Single Season- on base percentage (.502 ) - placing him fourth MU Single Season - slugging percentage (.635), and walks with 34. Toune finished second on the team with 58 hits and 10 home runs for the season. Toune finished the year with 83 putouts, seven assists and zero errors from his outfield position and was named All-WHAC first team and the All-WHAC Gold Glove team.
FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Tabatha Wydryck - Basketball
Wydryck led the Crusaders in total points (321), points per game (11.1), total rebounds (237) - ranking sixth in MU single season history - , total defensive rebounds (199) - ranking 17thnationally - rebounds per game (8.2) - tied fourth in MU single season history - , total assists (114), assists per game(3.93), total steals (89) - second in MU single season history - , and steals per game (3.07) - ranking 19thin the nation and second in MU single season history - while her 32 blocks was second on the team. Wydryck was named All-WHAC first team and an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.
Sara Sherwood - Cross Country
Sherwood made her second consecutive appearance at the NAIA National Championships after finishing fourth in the WHAC Championships with a time of 19:25. Sherwood's 62ndplace finish at the National Championships is the best finish for a Madonna runner in school history.
Jess
Jess Irwin - Softball
Irwin compiled a record of 29-6 during 2010 with an ERA of 1.66 and threw 31 complete games including four no-hitters. Irwin ranked in the top-10 in the nation in opponent batting average (.156), innings pitched (), wins (29), and ranked No. 2 in the Nation with 370 strike outs. Irwin set the Madonna single-season record with her opponent batting average of .156 and her 370 strikes outs ranks second to her 2009 season. During the 2010 season Irwin became the second pitcher in NAIA history to strike out 1,000 batters and was named WHAC Pitcher of the Year for the third consecutive year.
Cat Sidor - Softball
Sidor led the Crusaders with 71 hits in 190 at bats for a team leading .371 batting average. Sidor also led the team with 19 doubles and six home runs while her 36 RBI's was tied for second on the squad. Sidor's 19 doubles ranked her 17thin the NAIA and tied for first in Madonna single season history, her 71 hits ranks fourth all-time in Madonna single-season history and her six home runs is tied for sixth. Sidor was named WHAC Player of the Year in 2010.
Inta Grinvalds - Volleyball
Grinvalds completed her senior season with 1687 assists from the setter position. Grinvalds led the team with 46 service aces and was third on the team with 265 digs. Her 1,687 assists ranked her second in the nation for assists on the year and her 11.6 assists per set was best in the NAIA. Grinvalds is the Madonna career assists record holder with 7,009 total assists and was named to the All-WHAC first team, AVCA All-Region and NAIA All-American Honorable Mention teams.

Golf
The men's golf team captured the first WHAC Championship in program history, holding off second place finisher Cornerstone by one stroke over the course of the seven event conference season. The team advanced to the program's first ever NAIA National Championships at TPC Deere Run in
Baseball
The baseball team set a program record for wins in 2010 with an overall record of 48-11 en-route to the team's third consecutive WHAC regular season title and second consecutive NAIA National Championship Opening Round appearance. Madonna came within two games of the NAIA World Series after going 2-2 in opening round play for the best finish in program history. A total of five Crusaders were named to the All-WHAC first team including seniors John Ballarin, Zach Flavin and Ted Toune. Junior Matt Kay and freshman Jeremy Gooding rounded out the first team selections. Kyle Bolton, Jeff Bultinck, Robert Fraser and Tom Hansen each were selected to the All-WHAC honorable mention team. Freshman catcher Donny Holland and Toune each were named to the All-WHAC Gold Glove team and Head Coach Greg Haeger was named WHAC Coach of the Year for the third consecutive time.
FEMALE TEAM OF THE YEAR
Golf
The women's golf team became the first team in program history to win the WHAC Championship and advance to the NAIA National Championships. The Crusaders built an insurmountable lead on the conference field by winning each of the first three WHAC events and to hold a more than 20 stroke lead on the nearest competitor. Sara Simnitch and Michelle Hall each were named to the All-WHAC first team with Chelsea Bathurst being named All-WHAC honorable mention. Head Coach Scott Marzolino was named WHAC Coach of the Year, becoming the first coach in program history to receive the honor.
Softball
The softball team completed a sweep of the WHAC regular season title and the WHAC Tournament title, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the second consecutive year. Madonna finished the season with a 43-12 record and a record of 23-5 in conference play. The Crusaders took home a host of awards: Senior Cat Sidor was named WHAC Player of the Year, junior Jess Irwin was named WHAC Pitcher of the Year and both were named to the All-WHAC first team along with junior Kelly Lesko. Sophomore Hallie Minch and freshman Erica Landess were each named to the All-WHAC honorable mention team and Head Coach Al White was named WHAC Coach of the Year for the third straight year.
