CRUSADERVISION INTERVIEW WITH LIZ DEMPSEY AND ANNA GATT

LIVONIA, Mich. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - After three weeks of preseason the 2010 Madonna University volleyball team sees its first action of the season on Friday (Aug. 27) when it takes part in the University of Michigan-Dearborn Early Bird Challenge at the UMD Field House.

The No. 21-ranked Crusaders open play with a 3:15pm match against Spring Arbor University and wrap up day one of action with a 5:30pm match against Bethel College. Action continues on Saturday with an 8:45am match against Notre Dame College and the day wraps up with a Top-25 showdown against No. 23-ranked Georgetown College at 3:30pm.

Head Coach Jerry Abraham opens his 24th season with eight returning letter winners including All-WHAC selections in junior Karie Altman (Taylor, Mich. / St. Frances Cabrini) and senior Liz Dempsey (Westland, Mich. / Franklin). 

Following this weekend's action the Crusaders travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., to take part in the Embry Riddle Labor Day Classic, presented by the National Guard on Sept. 3-4.
