LIVONIA, Mich. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - The Madonna University women's soccer team kicks off the 2010 season on Thursday with a match against the University of Detroit Mercy. 

Kick off at UDM's Titan Field is set for 3pm and marks the debut of new MU boss Jeff Hodgson.

The Crusaders return 13 letter winners from 2009 including All-WHAC selection Sarah Rokuski (Algonac, Mich. / Algonac) as part of a group of three seniors that features Katie Kozlowski (Dearborn Heights, Mich. / Crestwood) and Ellen O'Rear (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Bishop Foley Catholic).

The Titans - a member of the Horizon League in the NCAA's Division I ranks - are 0-1 on the year after falling 3-1 to the University of Michigan last Friday.

Thursday's match marks the third straight season the two sides have met. In 2008 it was the Titans taking away a 2-0 regular season win at Greenmead Field while last season the Crusaders scored a 3-1 exhibition win.

Following the Detroit match, Madonna opens its home schedule on Saturday with a 12pm match against the University of Windsor at Greenmead Field.
