2010 BGA NOMINEES

LIVONIA, Mich. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - The Madonna University Athletic Department announced Tuesday (June 29)) that the Fourth-Annual Blue and Gold Awards celebrating the past year in MU Athletics will take place on Sunday September 12, at Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, starting at 5:30pm.

The event will be preceded by the annual Convocation Mass (also at Rock Financial) and is open to the public. Tickets for the event can be purchased on MadonnaCrusaders.com. All tickets must be ordered by September 6.

A spin-off of the popular ESPY Awards held each year by ESPN; the BGAs feature numerous individual and team honors, chosen from MU's 11 varsity sports. This event is dedicated to celebrating the 200 student-athletes and coaches that represent MU. Videos of the nominees in each category are shown with current and former Madonna student-athletes, head coaches along with university staff and faculty serving as presenters.

This fall the annual Julie Martin Memorial Scholarship presentation will become part of the BGA festivities and $5 from each ticket sold will go towards the scholarship fund. For more information on the Julie Martin Memorial Scholarship click HERE.

Once again Crusader Nation will have a say in the winners as each week a new poll will be placed on MadonnaCrusaders.com listing the nominees. Note - fan voting plays a small role in the final selection of the winner.
