LIVONIA, Mich. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - Madonna University head women's soccer coach Jeff Hodgson announced Monday (June 7) that he has signed Liliana Serratos (Dearborn, Mich./Dearborn) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers starting this fall.
Serratos joins Kristin Black (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Crestwood), Amanda Ferrick (Warren, Mich./Cousino) and Kirsten Hass (Flint, Mich./Kearsley) who signed earlier this spring.
"Liliana is a very skillful player," commented Hodgson after the signing. "She has a great shot, good soccer instincts and has the ability to score goals for us."
Serratos is a four-year letter winner for coach Armen Alabakoff and the Pioneers as well as a four-year academic letter winner in the classroom. She has helped Dearborn to a pair of district titles (2007, '08) and has led the Pioneers to the state regional semi-finals twice. A two-time all-area (2008, '09) selection, Serratos was also named to the all-conference and all-league teams as a junior (2009) after leading the team in scoring. She has also led the Pioneers in assists in each of the last three seasons.
The 2010 Madonna University season - which begins in August - will be Hodgson's first at the helm of the Crusaders.
