RAPID CITY, S.D. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - Freshman Michelle Hall (Flushing, Mich./Flushing) saved her best golf for the last day and posted a team tournament low round of 82 to close the 2010 NAIA National Championships at Meadowbrook Golf Course. As a team MU finished 22nd in its first ever appearance in the national championships.

"Michelle closed out very well today," commented head coach Scott Marzolino. "To think about where this program has come from in just four years is amazing. This is just the start for us and we are already looking forward to this fall and the quest of defending our WHAC title and getting back to the national tournament."

Hall took three shots off of her day three total to shoot a 10-over round. Hall posted a birdie on the twelfth hole while recording eight pars on the day to close in a tie for 84th.

Junior Sara Simnitch closed the event with an 89. Simnitch posted a birdie on the sixteenth hole to go along with six pars as well to finish in 105th place.

Sophomore Chelsea Bathurst (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson/Schoolcraft CC) turned in a round of 90 and posted the first eagle of the event for the Crusaders with a two on the par-four fourteenth to finish 109th.

Juniors Mariel Meyers (Westland, Mich./Franklin) and Caitlin Steele (Livonia, Mich./Divine Child Catholic) both turned in rounds of 98 to end the event in 110th and 120th respectively.

The Crusaders captured their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship last fall and do not lose a player off of this year's team for the 2010-11 season.
