INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - Behind junior Brett Quitiquit's (Highland, Mich./Milford/Oakland Univ.) ninth place finish, the Madonna University men's golf team closed with a 608 team total to tie for seventh place at the 2010 NAIA Classic at the Brickyard on Tuesday (April 13).

Quitiquit - who turned in his seventh top-10 finish of the season - took a stroke off of his day one score with round of 73 on Tuesday. Quitiquit helped the Crusaders move up two spots in the final rankings and into a tie with William Woods.

MU finished one shot ahead of No. 16-ranked Cumberlands and two strokes in front of No. 24 Lindenwood while ending the event six shots better than No. 25 Shorter. Host and No. 18 Indiana Wesleyan won the event by one shot over #14 Johnson & Wales and No. 9 Lee. No. 3-ranked Malone was fourth.

Junior Tommy Lucko (Livonia, Mich./Churchill/Oakland CC) finished in a tie for 32ndwith a total of 153 (78-75) while classmate Jimmy Uelmen (Ferndale, Mich./Dondero/Oakland CC) was one shot behind Lucko with a 154 (73-81). Senior Kyle Lawrey (Grand Blanc, Mich./Flushing/Mott CC) turned in a 158 (77-81) to finish 60th while sophomore Nick Sears (Clio, Mich./Flint Powers Catholic) to place 64th

The field 15 featured 14 teams that are in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll Top 25 or receiving votes including the Crusaders who are 32ndin the nation.

MU returns to the course on April 23 to take part in the Trine Invite hosted by Trine University.
