GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference office announced late Monday (March 8) that Madonna University third baseman Brad Lineberry (Canton, Mich.) was selected as the league's Baseball Player of the Week for the period ending March 7.
The honor - Lineberry's first of his career - comes after the freshman hit .556 in six games with two doubles, a triple, three runs batted in and eight runs scored, Lineberry went 10-for-18 at the plate in addition to drawing three walks and stealing a base as the No. 21-ranked Crusaders went 6-0 to improve to 10-2 on the sesason.
Lineberry and the Crusaders return to the field on Tuesday (March 9) to take on Evangel in single, nine-inning game at Chain of Lakes Park in Winterhaven, Fla. First pitch is set for 2:30pm.
