ANN ARBOR, Mich. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - Despite 19 points each from senior Leroy Allen (Detroit, Mich.) and junior Bryant Slaughter (Westland, Mich.), the Madonna University men's basketball team dropped its sixth conference game of the season on Wednesday night (Jan. 27) by a final score of 80-74 to Concordia inside Cardinal Fieldhouse.

Freshman Kevin Henry (Toledo, Ohio) - the reigning WHAC Player of the Week - added 15 points and sophomore Tyler Coker (Whitmore Lake, Mich.) chipped in with 11 points in the loss. Marius Williams led all scorers with 25 points for CU.

After falling behind 15-8, the Crusaders used an 8-1 run to tie the game at 16-all with 11:54 left in the half before taking their first lead of the half at 20-19 on a pair of Coker free throws.

U responded back to the MU charge, regaining the lead and going up by as many as 12 before taking a 41-32 lead into halftime.

oming out of the break the Cards expanded their lead out to as many as 18 and held a 74-59 lead with 4:02 to go. The Crusaders started an 11-0 run to pull to with in four at 74-70 and 2:10 on the clock but Card free throws put the home side back up by eight.

A late MU run got the Crusaders back to with in four with 42 ticks left but MU could not get any closer, falling 80-74.

MU continues its road swing Saturday night (Jan. 30) with a 7:30pm tip at Siena Heights.
