LIVONIA, Mich. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - Madonna University men's basketball freshman guard Kevin Henry (Toledo, Ohio) was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Player of the Week after closing the week averaging 21 points, four rebounds, 5.5 assists per game and shooting 50 percent (15-for-30) from the field. The conference award marks the first of Henry's career and the third for a Crusader this season.
The 6-4 guard began the week by scoring a career-high in the Crusaders' upset attempt against No. 13-ranked Cornerstone on Wednesday (Jan. 20). He finished the night with a game-high 27 points, connecting on 10-of-14 shooting while adding six rebounds. Henry led the Crusaders to their first league win of the season on Saturday (Jan. 23) by recording his first career double-double with 15 points and a game-high 10 assists.
For the season Henry is averaging 13.8 points, four rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
Henry and the Crusaders look to extend their winning streak on Wednesday night (Jan. 27) in a 7:30pm tip-off at Concordia.
