LIVONIA, Mich. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - Madonna University Athletics Director Bryan Rizzo announced Friday (Dec. 4) that he has accepted the resignation of head men's soccer coach Tino Scicluna. Scicluna's resignation is effective immediately.

"I am very sorry to see Tino go," commented Rizzo after a meeting with the team. "He has done a tremendous job in elevating our program to sustained national prominence.  He inherited a very strong program and built it to a top 20 program.  He will be extremely difficult to replace.  We will miss him."

Scicluna posted a 91-32-12 overall record in his seven seasons at the helm of the Crusaders and was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference's Coach of the Year four times (2003, 2005, 2007, 2008). Scicluna led the Crusaders to five WHAC championships as well as back-to-back appearances in the NAIA National Tournament (2007, 2008). The 2008 trip saw MU advance to the Sweet 16.

A national search for Scicluna's replacement is underway and interested parties may submit a resume and cover letter to Rizzo at:
