Alma trimmed the deficit to just a bucket (41-39) as the second half started but Madonna made six straight free throws to push the lead back up to eight at 47-39 with 17:07 left in the game. After McGrath converted a free throw with 7:23 left to put MU on top by 10 (64-54), the Crusaders never let the lead slip into single digits the remainder of the game, finishing with the 74-60 win.
