BOX SCORE

MARION, Ind. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - A quartet of players in double figures led by freshman Kaylee McGrath's (Livonia, Mich.) 15 markers could not stifle the No. 8-ranked Bethel College Pilots as they downed the Madonna University women's basketball team 75-60 to close the WHAC/MCC Challenge on Saturday (Nov. 21) inside Lucky Arena.

Joining McGrath in double figures were junior Tabatha Wydryck (Wyandotte, Mich.), sophomore Erin Bentley (Monroe, Mich.) and freshman Heather Pratt (Flushing, Mich.) with 10 points each. Heather Seyfred led all players with 21 points for Bethel.

McGrath canned a triple to put MU up 15-14 with just over 12 minutes to go in the opening half. The Crusaders pushed their lead to six on two separate occasions, the last coming at 23-17 with 7:12 left.

Bethel then went on a 10-2 run of its own to retake the lead at 27-25 on a Bekah Basinger three. BC increased its lead to seven before a Bentley score as time expired pulled MU back to with in five at 37-32.

Coming out of halftime Bethel pushed the lead out to eight points before Madonna cut into the lead before tying the game at 49-all thanks to another Bentley three and a free throw from sophomore Heather Goodwin (Temperance, Mich.) with 10:36 left in the game.

The two sides traded the lead over the next four minutes with the last tie coming at 58-all and an even six minutes showing on the clock. From that point the Crusader offense went cold, scoring just one field goal over the last six minutes as the Pilots went on a 15-2 run to close the game and seal the 75-60 win.

MU returns to the court on November 29, in a rare 3pm Sunday game at Alma College.
