CHICAGO, Ill. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - A pair of 14-point career high scoring efforts from sophomore Heather Goodwin (Temperance, Mich.) and freshman Kaylee McGrath (Livonia, Mich.) helped the Madonna University women's basketball team move to 2-0 on the season with a 78-38 win at Moody Bible Institute on Thursday night (Nov. 12) inside the Solheim Center.

Sophomore Erin Bentley (Monroe, Mich.) and freshman Heather Pratt (Flushing, Mich.) each added nine points each for the Crusaders. Jacqui Mitchell led Moody Bible with 13 points.

The outcome was never in double after the Crusaders opened an 11-0 lead just under three minutes into the contest. The Archers never got closer than nine the rest of the half as the Crusaders connected at a staggering 64 percent from the floor in the opening half and an impressive 58 percent from behind the three point line. MU went up by 30 with 6:17 left on a Pratt triple and the lead grew to as much as 37 when freshman Shantelle Herring (Macomb, Mich.) canned a triple of her won with just over a minute left in the half to send MU into the intermission with a 50-13 lead.

The second half saw MU go up by as many as 43 with just over eight minutes left before cruising to a 40 point win, 78-38.

The Crusaders will return to the court on Tuesday (Nov. 17) when the royal blue and gold travel to Hope for a 6pm tip-off against the Flying Dutch inside the DeVos Fieldhouse.
