RESULTS

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - - Junior Sarah Sherwood (Plymouth, Mich.) ran the five kilometer course in 19:25 to place fourth and earn her second straight trip to the NAIA National Champions as the Madonna University women's cross country team placed fourth at the 2009 WHAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday (Nov. 7) at Riverside Park.

Behind Sherwood was sophomore Cassie Yarnall (Clarkston, Mich.) who ran 20:26, coming in 19th. Junior Kari Saarela (Livonia, Mich.) was 26th and sophomore Emily Bambach (Livonia, Mich.) as the duo crossed the line in 20:56 and 21:10 respectively. Rounding out the MU contingent was senior Emma Czaplicki (Farmington Hills, Mich.) and junior Devan Walley (Livonia, Mich.) who were 35th and 43rd respectively.

Sherwood advances to the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Washington, on Nov. 21.
