BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (MadonnaCrusaders.com) - -
Led by junior Sarah Sherwood (Plymouth, Mich.) and her 28th place finish, the Madonna University women's cross country team placed 14th at the Falcon Invite on Saturday (Oct. 17) at the BGSU Cross Country Course.

After missing MU's last meet with the flu, Sherwood responded by crossing the line in 23:13 to lead all WHAC runners. Fellow junior Kari Saarela (Livonia, Mich.) was next for the Crusaders, running the 5k course in 25:21. Sophomores Kassie Yarnall (Clarkston, Mich.) and Emily Bambach (Livonia, Mich.) were next for MU, running 25:28 and 25:41 respectively.

A pair of juniors - Emma Czaplicki (Farmington Hills, Mich.) and Devan Walley (Livonia, Mich.) - rounded out the MU contingent as the duo crossed the line in 25:50 and 26:31.

MU returns to the course on Saturday (Oct. 24) at the NAIA Great Lakes Invite. The race will be contested on the same course as the upcoming WHAC Championships.
