The Madonna University women's soccer team got a goal late in the opening half from senior Kaila Moore (Howell, Mich.) but could not find the back of the net again before falling to Aquinas 2-1 on Wednesday (Oct. 14) at AQ Field.

Moore's tally came in the 44th minute as junior Katie Kozlowski (Dearborn Heights, Mich.) played a ball up to Moore who beat the AQ keeper for a 1-0 lead going into the half.

Aquinas got a goal in the 57th minute to even the match at 1-1. Both sides had chances the remainder of regulation with MU getting five shots on goal to just one for AQ but neither side could find the back of the net.

Aquinas worked quickly in overtime, getting a goal from Jaime Tomaszewski just 3:06 into the extra
session for the winner.

Sophomore Brittany Warner (Canton, Mich.) made five saves for MU.

The Crusaders now have a week off before hosting Davenport next Wednesday (Oct. 21) in a 4pm match at Greenmead Field.
