The Madonna women's golf team battled windy and rainy conditions on Monday

CANTON, Mich. - - Fighting rainy and windy conditions, the Madonna University women's golf team sits two shots out of first place after day one of WHAC Jamboree No. 4, played at Pheasant Run Golf Club on Monday (Sept. 28). Aquinas led the event with a team total of 368, two shots better than MU's 370.
 
Junior Sara Simnitch (Swartz Creek, Mich.) led MU with a round of 86 to tie for fourth. Sophomore Chelsea Bathurst (Livonia, Mich.) and freshman Michelle Hall (Flushing, Mich.) each turned in rounds of 94 while junior Caitlin Steele (Livonia, Mich.) carded a 96 for the Crusaders.
 
MU will wrap up day two of the event on Tuesday (Sept. 29), hosting what equates to the WHAC Championship at Walnut Creek Country Club. The Crusaders lead Indiana Tech in the race for fewest total strokes heading into the final WHAC event of the fall.
