SOUTH BEND, Ind. - - The Madonna University men's golf team swung out of WHAC play for a weekend and finished in a tie for third on Saturday (Sept. 26), carding a final round of 300, four shots less than Friday at the Pilot Invitational hosted by Bethel College at the Blackthorn Golf Club.
Junior Tommy Lucko (Livonia, Mich.) rebounded after shooting a 76 on Friday to turn in the low round of the day on Saturday with a 68 (144) to finish second overall.
Fellow junior Jimmy Uelmen (Ferndale, Mich.) tied for 15th with a two-day total of 152 (71/81). Sophomore Nick Sears (Clio, Mich.) tied for 24th while senior Steve South (Westand, Mich.) and junior Austin Stillman (Livonia, Mich.) tied for 28th and 39th with totals scores of 155 (78/77), 156 (80/76) and 158 (79/79).
MU goes back into WHAC play on Monday (Sept. 28), making the short trip to Canton for WHAC Jamboree No. 5, hosted by Concordia at Phesant Run Golf Club.
