LIVONIA, Mich. - - The No. 9-ranked Madonna University volleyball team swept visiting Windsor 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-10) on Friday night (Sept. 25) inside the Activities Center.

Senior outside hitter Mary McGInnis (Fraser, Mich.) led MU with 15 kills while junior outside Liz Dempsey (Westland, Mich.) added seven. Senior setter Inta Grinvalds (Portage, Mich.) handed out 28 assists while sophomore libero Amanda Koszela (Dearborn, Mich.) led the way for MU with 13 digs. Jennifer Ellig and Mackenzie Coyle led UW with seven kills each.

Sets one and two were tight early and back and forth battles until MU stretched out a lead late, taking both by 25-17 finals.

Set three was all MU from start to finish as the Crusaders 12-2 lead behind four McGinnis kills and two service aces. From there the Crusaders cruised to the 25-10 win.

MU returns to the court on Tuesday (Sept. 29), making the trip back to Grand Rapids to battle with Aquinas at 7pm.
