NEW HAVEN, Ind. - - The Madonna University women's golf team opened day one of the second WHAC Jamboree of the season with a second place showing, five shots behind the leaders Indiana Tech on the Warriors' home course - Whispering Creek Golf Course on Friday (Sept. 18). MU shot 346 as a team to trail Tech.

Junior Sara Simnitch (Swartz Creek, Mich.) sits in third place after carding an 83. Sophomore Chelsea Bathurst (Livonia, Mich.) is tied for eighth after turning in an 86 and freshman Michelle Hall (Flushing, Mich.) is one stroke behind Bathurst in a tie for 10th with an 87. Juniors Mariel Meyers (Westland, Mich.) shot a 90 to tie for 13th while fellow junior Caitlin Steele (Livonia, Mich.) is in 24th after shooting 95.

The Crusaders wrap up Jamboree No. 2 on Saturday as the location moves to the Tecumseh Country Club in Tecumseh, Mich., for another round of 18 holes.
