ADRIAN, Mich. - - In its third WHAC event of the week the Madonna University men's golf team maintained its lead over the field, this time by once again coming in second. MU turned in a team total of 292, tying with Davenport and just one shot behind winner Cornerstone.
Junior
Tommy Lucko (Livonia, Mich.) took home his second medalist honor of the week with an even-par round of 71 to tie for first.
Sophomore
Nick Sears (Clio, Mich.) and junior
Jimmy Uelmen (Ferndale, Mich.) tied for seventh with two-over rounds of 73. A trio of Crusaders - seniors
Kyle Lawrey (Grand Blanc, Mich.) and
Steve South (Westland, Mich.) along with junior
Brett Quitiquit (Highland, Mich.) - tied for 17th with rounds of 75, four over par.
The 292 team total maintains MU's lead in total strokes over Cornerstone by six and improves the Crusaders' lead over defending WHAC champion Davenport to 11 shots.
MU returns to the course on Wednesday for Jamboree No. 4 hosted by Aquinas College at The Highlands at the Elks CC in Grand Rapids, Mich.
