NORTHVILLE, Mich. - -  The Madonna University men's cross country team opened its 2009 season on Saturday (Sept. 12) at the Detroit Titan Invite at Cass Benton Park. MU did not post a team score due to just four healthy runners.
 
A trio of newcomers led the way for MU as Tim Boes (Westland, Mich.) was the top Crusader, placing 66th with a time of 23:53 over the four mile distance. Right behind Boes was Danny Pratt (Flushing, Mich.) in 67th with a time of 23:59.
 
Freshman Luke Mion (Medina, Ohio) ran 26:01 to place 83trdwhile sophomore Mitch Cieslak (Brighton, Mich.) was two spots behind Mion with a time of 26:48.
 
The Crusader return to the course on Friday (Sept. 18) at the National Catholic Invitational at Notre Dame.
