KENDALLVILLE, Ind. - - Behind a second first place finish of the season from junior Jimmy Uelmen (Ferndale, Mich.), the Madonna University men's golf team finished second at the second WHAC Jamboree of the season on Friday (Sept. 11) at the Noble Hawk Golf Course.
 
Uelmen carded a two-under round of 68 to tie for medalist honors. Uelman won the Lou Collins Memorial last Saturday to pick up his first medalist of the season.
 
Sophomore Nick Sears (Clio, Mich.) was in a group of three golfers who tied for third with a one-under 70. Senior Steve South (Westland, Mich.) tied for 11th with a 73 while fellow senior Kyle Lawrey (Grand Blanc, Mich.) was 13th, shooting a 74. Junior Brett Quitiquit (Highland, Mich.) tied for 15th with a round of 77 while classmate Tommy Lucko (Livonia, Mich.) was two shots behind him with a 79, tying for 17th.
 
MU came in second to Cornerstone by one shot and bested Davenport by four strokes to maintain its lead in the overall standings.
 
WHAC Jamboree number three is slated for Saturday (Sept. 12) at the Lenawee Country Club.
