KENTWOOD, Mich. - - The Madonna University men's golf team captured the first WHAC Jamboree of the fall season on Tuesday (Sept. 8) by seven strokes over Davenport at the Panthers' home course, Stonewater Golf Course.
 
As a team MU shot an even par round of 268, bettering DU by seven and Cornerstone by eight to take an early lead in the loop standings.
 
Junior Tommy Lucko (Livonia, Mich.) took home medalist honors with a three-under round of 68 while fellow junior Brett Quitiquit (Highland, Mich.) tied for second with an even par 71. Sophomore Nick Sears (Clio, Mich.) tied for sixth with a one-over 71 while junior Jimmy Uelmen (Ferndale, Mich.) tied for eighth with a two-over 73. Rounding out the MU contingent was senior Steve South (Westland, Mich.) who tied for 18th with a round of 77.
 
The Crusaders return to the links on Friday (Sept. 11) in WHAC Jamboree No. 2, hosted by Indiana Tech at Noble Hawk GC in Kendallville, Ind.
