LIVONIA, Mich. - - Madonna University baseball recruit Brad Lineberry (Canton, Mich.) has been selected to play in the 2009 Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game slated for June 16 at Comerica Park.

The game, which features the top prep players from across the state of Michigan, is in its 28th season and has seen former Madonna players take part in the past including 2008 selection and redshirt freshman right hander Jeremy Gooding (Livonia, Mich.).

Lineberry - an infielder - is one of seven signings thus far for 2009 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Greg Haeger and his staff. Joining Lineberry as freshmen this coming fall at MU are: Outfielder Tom Atkinson (Lachine, Mich.), outfielder Alex Charles (Farmington Hills, Mich.), left-handed pitcher Brett Gossett (Farmington, Mich.), catcher Donny Holland (White Lake, Mich.), outfielder/infielder Steve Pelletier (Farmington Hills, Mich.) and right-handed pitcher Tyler Schofield (Windsor, Ont.).

The Crusaders - 39-12 in 2009 - are coming off of the most successful season in school history including a WHAC regular season championship and the program's first appearance in the NAIA National Tournament.
