LIVONIA, Mich. - - Head men's basketball coach Noel Emenhiser announced Thursday (May 28) that Jarrod Horton (Toledo, Ohio) has signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Madonna University starting this fall.

Horton is the third student-athlete to sign with Madonna, joining Dragan Bijelic (Shelby Township, Mich.) and Fred Williams (Oak Park, Mich.) both of whom committed earlier in the spring.

"The coaching staff is very excited that Jarrod has chosen to continue his academic and basketball career here at Madonna University," said Emenhiser following the signing. "Jarrod is a powerful player who has excellent fundamentals on both sides of the ball. Coach Lowe at St. Francis has done an incredible job of teaching Jarrod the game and that will translate to the college level."

The 5-11 Horton earned two letters in basketball and football at St. Francis de Sales in Toledo, Ohio. Horton teamed with current Crusader Kevin Henry (Toledo, Ohio) at de Sales his junior year in running the Knights offense under head coach Nick Lowe.

The Crusaders return 12 letter winners from the 2009 squad for Emenhiser's first season at the helm in 2009-10.
