LIVONIA, Mich. - - Head men's basketball coach Noel Emenhiser announced Friday (May 8) that Dragan Bijelic (Shelby Township, Mich.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Madonna University starting this fall.

Bijelic is the second student-athlete to sign with Madonna, joining Fred Williams (Oak Park, Mich.) who committed in April.

"The coaching staff feels very fortunate that Dragan has chosen to continue his career here at Madonna," commented Emenhiser following the signing. "Dragan does many things that are hard to find in players today. At 6-5, his ability to shoot, move without the ball, and use screens will create some difficult match-ups for other teams. Not only is Dragan a tremendous basketball player he is also a great young man."

The 6-5 Bijelic was a three-year letter winner for the Eagles under coach Brandon Lemley at Eisenhower. He helped his team to the 2008 MHSAA district title and the 2009 Macomb Area Conference Red Division championship. Bijelic - who plans to study nursing at MU - was named to the All-MAC first team as well as the all-county and all-east teams in 2009.

The Crusaders return 12 letter winners from the 2008-09 squad for Emenhiser's first season at the helm in 2009-10.
