FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Justin Stack (FR/Brownstown, Mich.) was in the right place at the right time as the freshman knocked home a rebound in overtime to keep the Madonna University men's soccer team, who received votes in the NAIA Coaches' Poll, unbeaten with a 3-2 victory over Missouri Baptist in a neutral site contest at the Plex North.

FINAL: Madonna (4-0-0) 3, Missouri Baptist (2-4-0) 2 (OT)

  • It was a tale of two halves as the teams combined for four goals in the opening 45 minutes then just one goal in the final 47

  • Ludvick Asigo (FR/Rongo, Kenya) got the scoring started in the 12th minute as Costa Wells (SR/Sterling Heights, Mich.) played the ball across the field to Asigo who drilled the ball to the far post and got a friendly bounce for the 1-0 lead

  • Missouri Baptist evened the score two minutes later on a header shot and the score remained tied until the 35th minute

  • Stack scored the first of his two goals in the 35th minute as Asigo was again involved in the play as he crossed the ball into the box where Stack soared above the Spartans and headed the ball into the upper left 90 for a 2-1 advantage

  • MBU answered with a goal before the half and the game remained tied until the 92nd minute

  • Stack was in the perfect position for the game winner as he was able to get a foot on a Hector Morales (SR/Habana, Cuba) rebound and found the back of the net to send MU to 4-0

Up Next:

  • Madonna's two-game road trip wraps up on Monday, Sept. 11 as they travel to Spring Arbor, Michigan to face the Cougars of Spring Arbor at 7 p.m.
