LIVONIA, Mich. – The Madonna University volleyball team, led by NAIA Hall of Fame head coach Jerry Abraham, face a first in the programs 31-year history as the Crusaders return just seven players from a team that won 30 games for the sixth straight season and made the programs 16th NAIA National Tournament appearance. Abraham believes that the seven newcomers in the 2017 class should help the Crusaders continue the winning tradition.

"We lost a lot of experience and size, but I'm excited about the group we have coming in this year," said Abraham. "We may not be as big as last season, but we have several talented players coming in and we will be very athletic and a litter faster than last season. With so many departures from last season, there will be some spots up for grabs in the preseason. We have a strong nucleus and I hope that this group coming in will contribute right away."
