LIVONIA, Mich. – The Madonna University women's bowling team, led by second year head coach Brian Bressler, have added four highly decorated bowlers from the state of Michigan that Bressler hopes can propel the Crusaders into the national spotlight in the program's second season.

"Year one of a program is always difficult and there were some growing pains," said Bressler. "But we persevered and have some talented young ladies returning which should help our four newcomers acclimate to collegiate bowling and help take our program to the next level."

Victoria Giardina - 5-4 - Shelby Township, Mich. / Henry Ford II HS

  • Four-year varsity letterwinner in softball and bowling
  • 2015: Bowling team MVP and Second Team All-County and All-District; Softball All-Academic Team
  • 2016: Third Team All-State bowler, team MVP, All-District, First Team All-County, highest average at 210; All-Academic softball team member
  • 2017: First Team All-State bowler, team MVP, All-District, Second Team All-County, All-Region Team; All-State honorable mention in softball, All-Academic team
  • Three-time bowling state qualifier, placed fourth as a senior
  • Led team to first ever Macomb County Bowling Tournament Championship as a senior
  • High game of 279

Melissa Babock - 5-8 - Milan, Mich. / Father Gabriel Richard HS

  • Four-year varsity letterwinner in bowling and cheerleading
  • Earned Coaches Award, Fighting Irish Award and All-Catholic Award
  • Scholar-athlete nominee as a senior
  • Placed second in the Catholic League Championships
  • Took third at regionals in team competition
  • Led team to 17th place finish at state championships
  • High game of 194

Krystal Radzitowski- 5-4 - Washington, Mich. / Romeo HS

  • Three-year varsity letterwinner
  • Three-time Macomb Area Conference First Team (2015-17)
  • Three-time MAC All-Academic Team (2015-17)
  • In 2015-16 placed fourth at MAC Championships, fifth at Regionals and 26th at the state championship
  • High Game of 298 (11 strikes in a row)
  • Won the 2016 Tony Lindemann Memorial/Youth Singles Scholarship Tournament

Carley VanTiem- 5-7 - Gladwin, Mich. / Gladwin HS

  • Four-year varsity letterwinner
  • Named team MVP all four years
  • Two-time Jack Pine Conference MVP (2015-17)
  • Three-time Jack Pine Singles tournament champion (2013-17)
  • 2017: S&R Scholarship tournament champion, Regional champion, sixth at State
  • Two-time State Qualifier
