LIVONIA, Mich. – The Madonna University women's golf program, led by Head Coach Scott Marzolino who returns for his 13th season at the helm, look to return to the top of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference with a strong crop of incoming recruits. The many accomplishments of the incoming freshman can be found below.

"The state of Michigan has a rich history of women's golf and these young ladies are a testament to that history," said Marzolino. "This group should come in and make an immediate impact on our program and help return us back to the top of the WHAC where we belong."

McKenzie Chaisson - 5-8 - Oxford, Mich. / Oxford HS

  • Three-time Honor Roll Member
  • Two-time OAA All-League
  • Two-time Team MVP and Team Captain (2016, 17)
  • Team most improved player sophomore year
  • Four-time Scholar-Athlete
  • Four-time Academic All-State

Paige Clauss - 5-3 - Bay City, Mich. / Bay City Western HS

  • Four-year varsity golf and softball letterwinner
  • Earned Leadership, Rookie of the Year, Sportsmanship and Team MVP Award
  • First-Team All-County, All-State Honorable Mention
  • Academic All-State
  • Graduate Summa Cum Laude
  • Bay County Champion in 2016
  • MLive Player of the Year (2015, 2017)

Kayla Gerhardt - 5-4 - Flushing, Mich. / Flushing HS

  • Earned varsity letters in golf, soccer and basketball
  • Four-time Academic All-State (2014-17)
  • Four-time Flint Metro League Scholar-Athlete (2014-17)
  • Three-time All-Conference performer on the course (2015-17)
  • Golf team MVP in 2015, soccer team MVP in 2017
  • Two-time All-Conference in soccer (2016-17)

Jacquelyn Green - 5-7 - Livonia, Mich. / Livonia Stevenson HS

  • Earned varsity letters in cross country, golf, basketball and softball
  • Four-time honor roll member
  • Three-time KLAA Academic Award honoree
  • Two-time SIMUN global education award
  • Team won city golf championship four times
  • Also member of two-time basketball city champion, while softball and cross country teams won city titles once

Madison Maurier - 5-1 - Livonia, Mich. / Livonia Stevenson HS

  • Four-year varsity golf letterwinner, three-year varsity softball letterwinner
  • Regional Championship (2016)
  • City Championship (2013-16)
  • Recorded Hole-in-One at Whispering Pines Golf Course, took first place in tournament
  • Kensington Tour-Washtenaw Division Champion (2016)
  • All-State Academic Team Member (2016)

Madison Montgomery - 5-4 - Byron, Mich. / Byron HS

  • Earned varsity letters in golf, basketball and soccer
  • In 2016: Argus Press Student of the Week, MIGCA All-State Academic First Team, Cook Family Foundation Scholarship Finalist
  • In 2015: National Honor Society, Gold Award FFA Greenhand Public Speaking award, Shiawassee Scholar
  • Division 4 MHSAA State Qualifier in 2016
  • Two-time First Team All-GAC (2015-16)
  • Four-time Team Captain
  • School record holder for 9 and 18 holes
  • Two-time basketball Sixth Man of the Year (2015-16)

The Crusaders open the 2017-18 season on Sept. 11-12 at the Cardinal Stritch Invite in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with their first local competition coming Oct. 6-7 in Plymouth, Michigan as they host the first WHAC Jamboree at Golden Fox Golf Club.
