@MUCrusadersGOLF Men Earn Runner-Up Finish at Shootout at Stonehedge

RESULTS | AUGUSTA, Mich. – The Madonna University men's golf team carded a final round 305 to finish second with a 36-hole 602 (297-305) at the Shootout at Stonehedge hosted by Lawrence Technical University at Stonehedge Golf Club North on Saturday afternoon.

John Tatti (JR/Canton, Mich.) and Marc Hebert (SR/Shelby Township, Mich.) tied for ninth to lead Madonna as both finished with two-day 150s. Tatti carded a 76 on Saturday after carding a 74 in round one while Hebert posted back-to-back 75s.

Justin Pahl (JR/White Lake, Mich.) and Michael Gaulin (SR/Shelby Township, Mich.) tied for 14th as each finished the event with a 152. Pahl followed his opening round 73 with a 79 on Saturday while Gaulin posted a 77 in the final round after his first round 75.

Connor Humitz (SR/Livonia, Mich.) rounded out the Crusaders scoring with a 36-hole 153 (76-77) to finish tied for 20th.

University of Northwestern Ohio, ranked seventh in the NAIA Coaches' Poll, carded the lowest round of the tournament (290) on Saturday, led by individual medalist Lewis Scott (74-70=144), to win the tournament with a 591 (301-290). The Crusaders finished 11 strokes back in second with a 602 (297-305) while the host Blue Devils finished third with a 604 (298-306).

The event served as a tune-up of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships, which will be played at the same course on Monday and Tuesday, Apr. 24-25, the next event on the schedule for the Crusaders.
