Trio Selected by NAIA as Men's Soccer Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Three Crusader men's soccer players landed on the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' (NAIA) Scholar-Athlete list for their excellence in the classroom. Tom Ashmore (Farmington, Mich./Schoolcraft CC/Business Administration), Marcel Schmid (Stuttgart, Germany/Johann Friedrich-von-Cotta-Schule/International Business), and redshirt Daniel Swanson (Rochester Hills, Mich./Avondale/Accounting) were all named to the list for the first time.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

It's the first national award for all three juniors, who were also named to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) All-Academic team earlier this fall.
