GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - - The Madonna University men's cross country team's 2013 season came to an end with a sixth place finish at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships at Riverside Park.

Aquinas won the event with Indiana Tech, Siena Heights, Cornerstone and Davenport rounding out the top five squads.

Junior Nathaniel Theobald (Carleton, Mich. / St. Mary Catholic Central) led MU with a time of 27:00 to place 22nd overall. Senior Jeffrey Grzywinski (Monroe, Mich. / St. Mary Catholic Central) was 27th in a time of 27:22 in his final race as a Crusader.

Sophomore Ryan Carrigan (Commerce Township, Mich. / Lakeland) ran a 27:58 over the 8k course to place 34th with juniors Nick Brubaker (Ida, Mich. / Ida) and Erick Roth (Hillsdale, Mich. / Hillsdale) finished 76th and 79th with times of 32:13 and 33:28 respectively to round out the MU contingent.

The Crusaders will return to the course in August to begin the 2014 season.
