LINCOLN, Neb. - - The Madonna University women's golf team's quest for a national title ended on Thursday (May 23) as the Crusaders ended their stay at the 2013 NAIA National Championships in 20th place at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club.

The Crusaders bid good bye to a pair of seniors – Megan Fleischer (Bloomfield Hills, Mich. / Marian Catholic) and Michelle Hall (Flushing, Mich. / Flushing) – who complete their careers as the most successful senior class in program history. The duo was part of all three of MU's trip to the NAIA National Championships and won five Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference titles (2009, 2010 regular season, 2011-12 regular season and tournament and 2013 tournament). Hall is also the first Madonna golfer – male or female – to play in four NAIA National Championships as she went as an individual after the 2010-11 season in addition to her three team trips.

Hall led MU in the overall standings and ended the event in a tie for 51st after shooting an 85 to close the event. Hall's final round was highlighted with a birdie on the par-4 eighth hole.

Sophomore Chelsea Collura (Riverview, Mich. / Gabriel Richard Catholic) led the Crusaders in round three with an 82 to tie for 73rd overall. Collura had a birdie on number 15 and played both sides at five-over par.

Freshman Holly Laginess (Carleton, Mich. / St. Mary Catholic Central) finished in a tie for 112th after Thursday's 86. Laginess birdied the 15th to close her first season as a Crusader. Fellow freshman Jordyn Shepler (Livonia, Mich. / Churchill) came closed her rookie season with an 88 to end in a tie for 122nd.

Junior Kaitlyn Brasher (Grand Blanc, Mich. / Grand Blanc) birded a pair of holes – numbers 15 and 18 – to close with an 89 and end in a tie for 130th.

The Crusaders captured the program's third bid to the NAIA National Championships during the 2012-13 season and return five letter winners for the 2013-14 season.
