GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference office announced Monday (Jan. 14) that Madonna University's Bobby Naubert was selected as the WHAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 13.
This week's selection marks the fourth time this season that Naubert has been tabbed for the league's weekly honor. Naubert was also selected on Nov. 19, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17.
Naubert (Livonia, Mich. / Stevenson) led No. 24 Madonna to a perfect 2-0 week and sole possession of first place in the WHAC with wins over UM-Dearborn and Aquinas.
In MU's come-from-behind road win at UMD, Naubert scored 20 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and recording six assists. In the Crusaders' victory over Aquinas on Saturday at the Activities Center, Naubert had 15 points, nine rebounds and six more assists.
For the week Naubert averaged 17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, six assists, two steals. He shot .500 (10-for-20) from the floor and 67 percent (14-for-21) from the free throw line.
The Crusaders look to maintain their lead in the WHAC race on Wednesday night (Jan. 16) when they travel to Indiana Tech for a 7:30 p.m. tip at the Schaefer Center's Kline Court.
