KENDALLVILLE, Ind. - - The Madonna University women's golf team took 12 strokes off of its day one total to card a 330 and come in third at the St. Francis Spring Invitational on Saturday afternoon (April 7) at Cobblestone Golf Course.

Bethel won the event with a 620 total while DePauw was second at 624. MU defeated WHAC foes Davenport (685) and Siena Heights (715) and host St. Francis (673).

Junior Michelle Hall (Flushing, Mich. / Flushing) cut a stroke off of her total to shoot an 81 and finish in a tie for 14th place. Freshman Becca Porter (Lambertville, Mich. / Bedford) shaved three stokes off of her day one total for an 81 as well and finished in 16th place. Fellow freshman Chelsea Collura (Riverview, Mich. / Gabriel Richard Catholic) finished in a tie with sophomore Kaitlyn Brasher (Grand Blanc, Mich. / Grand Blanc) for 23rd after both players shot a total of 173. Collura carded an 87 on Saturday while Brasher shot an 83, seven strokes better than her day one score. Junior Megan Fleischer (Bloomfield Hills, Mich. / Marian Catholic) made the biggest jump on day two, cutting 12 shots off of her total for an 85 to finish in a tie for 31st place.

The Crusaders now turn their sights to the final event before the WHAC Championship. MU heads to the Laura Bump Invitational next Saturday and Sunday (April 14-15).
